Allu Arjun Seeks Legal Relief After FIR Over Woman’s Tragic Death at Pushpa 2 Premiere
Actor Allu Arjun has approached the Telangana High Court, requesting the dismissal of an FIR filed against him in connection with the tragic death of a woman during the premiere of his much-anticipated film, Pushpa 2, at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre.
The Incident: A Chaotic Premiere Turns Fatal
On December 4, a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor. Amid the chaos, a 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life due to asphyxiation, and her eight-year-old son had to be hospitalized. Following the incident, the Chikkadpally police registered a case on December 5 against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
FIR and Arrests
The FIR was filed based on a complaint from the deceased woman’s family. Authorities also arrested three individuals linked to the theatre, including one of the owners, a senior manager, and the lower balcony in-charge, as part of the investigation.
Allu Arjun’s Petition
In his plea, Arjun has sought a stay on all legal proceedings, including a potential arrest, until the court resolves the matter. The Telangana High Court is expected to hear his petition in the coming days.

A Gesture of Support
The actor announced financial aid of ₹25 lakh for the deceased woman’s family and shared his condolences in an emotional 3-minute-47-second video on X. “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I will personally meet them to offer support,” he said.
Speaking in Telugu, Allu Arjun described the crowd as “unexpected” and expressed deep sorrow upon learning about the tragedy. He emphasized that such incidents overshadow the joy of making films meant for the audience’s enjoyment.
