Cabbage leaf: Girl dies after eating cabbage leaf, was treated for a week after falling ill

Often when people go to farms and vegetable gardens, they try to pluck fruits and vegetables grown there and eat them, but eating fruits and vegetables without washing them with water can prove to be very costly. One such heart-wrenching case has come to light from Sri Ganganagar district. Where a 14-year-old girl died. 14-year-old Sneha was studying in class 8th in Mahatma Gandhi English Medium School of Sadhuwali village. She unknowingly plucked a leaf and ate it which became fatal for her.

What was the whole matter

Like every day, Sneha got ready early in the morning to go to school on December 18, although the school time was 10 am. Before that she reached the farm located in front of her house. While roaming around, she somehow thought of plucking a cabbage leaf grown there and eating it. After a short walk, when the girl started feeling nauseous, she came home and told her family about her ill health.

When the family asked the whole story, they understood the matter and immediately admitted her to a private hospital in Sri Ganganagar for treatment. Where she died on the evening of 24 December during the treatment that lasted for about a week.

Pesticide was sprayed on cabbage
This girl's uncle Mangilal had sprayed pesticide on the cabbages grown in the field on the morning of 18 December. The girl broke and swallowed the leaf sprayed with this pesticide and died due to the effect of the poison. According to the police, when the girl's father Ashwini Kumar registered a case on 25 December, the matter was revealed.

The family ran the family by selling vegetables
Village 3Y's Sarpanch Pramod said that the girl Sneha's family has been doing farming since the beginning. People have grown cabbage, spinach and other vegetables in the field. The family survives by selling these. However, spraying pesticides on crops is a common practice.

Even before the incident, her uncle had sprayed pesticides on cabbages. The Sarpanch said that Sneha has a brother and her uncle also has a son, so she was the only sister of two brothers.
