Chandigarh: Two arrested including brother of former BJP deputy mayor for attacking and removing turban of a Sikh in a factory in Industrial Area Phase-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh
Police have arrested Manish alias Bablu Dubey, brother of BJP leader and former deputy mayor Anil Dubey, and Pancham for assaulting Jaswinder Singh and attacking him with a sharp weapon in a factory in Chandigarh's Ram Darbar Industrial Area Phase-2. Police presented both the accused in the district court on Tuesday.
The entire incident of beating Jaswinder Singh was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the factory. Several accused were beating Jaswinder Singh together. They took him out of the factory while beating him. The accused removed his turban and pulled his beard. Harinder Singh alias Golu, a resident of Dadumajra village, said that his uncle's factory is at number 114.
Uncle's son Jaswinder Singh has given the factory on rent to Pancham Chauhan. Jaswinder had gone to clean the factory at around 2.30 pm on Sunday afternoon on the occasion of Guru Parv. Where he saw tenant Pancham sitting with some people and consuming meat and alcohol. Jaswinder Singh stopped them from consuming alcohol and meat in the factory. Meanwhile, Manish Dubey, the operator of the factory next to Pancham, also came to the factory, where Jaswinder was badly beaten up. People kept watching the spectacle. Dozens of people were present around during the fight, but no one intervened. Jaswinder said that all these people had come with Manish Dubey and Pancham. Police is identifying the other accused who attacked, after which they will be arrested.
After the incident, the police took Jaswinder to GMCH-32 for treatment in a bloody state. After treatment, Jaswinder went home. After reaching home, his health deteriorated further. After this, the family members reached Sector-31 police station with Jaswinder Singh for the arrest of the accused. Police reached the factory with Jaswinder at around 5:30 in the evening. Jaswinder alleged that the accused abused and tried to hit the women in front of the policemen of Sector-31 police station. After this, the victim called the police again.
CBI had arrested Manish Dubey in a bribery case
CBI had arrested Manish alias Bablu Dubey two years ago in a bribery case. Manish was doing bribe deals in connivance with a constable. Deepak alias Deepa, a resident of Ram Darbar, was being threatened with arrest. He gave information to the CBI against the constable and Manish Dubey. On Deepak's complaint, the police arrested Bablu Dubey and another middleman. However, Manish came out of jail on bail after a few months.
