Walking naked, wrapping ash and sand on their bodies, dancing, singing, jumping, playing Damru-Dhapli, the life of Naga Sadhus has always been mysterious. No one has much information about where they come from and where they disappear. According to Juna Akhara spokesperson Mahant Hari Giri, these Naga sanyasis who have come to the Akharas have come from Allahabad, Kashi, Ujjain, caves of the Himalayas and Haridwar. Many of these sanyasis wear clothes and some even do penance in secret places and then come to Nashik after 6 years i.e. on the occasion of the next Ardh Kumbh. Usually these Naga sanyasis keep their identity hidden.

Spend life eating roots and tubers
Many Naga sanyasis have come from the caves or hills of Junagadh in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Naga sanyasis live in one cave for a few years and then go to another cave. Due to this, it is difficult to find out their exact location. Changing caves from one to another and from the second to the third in this way and immersed in the devotion of Bhole Baba, these Nagas spend their entire life with the help of herbs and tubers and tubers. Many Nagas spend years roaming in the forests and are seen in the next Kumbh or Ardh Kumbh.

One time meal

Naga sadhus have to eat only one time in a day and night. That meal is also obtained by begging. A Naga sadhu has the right to take alms from a maximum of seven houses. If he does not get alms from all the seven houses, then he has to remain hungry. Whatever food is received, it has to be consumed lovingly, ignoring likes and dislikes.

Right to sleep only on the ground

Naga sadhus cannot use a bed, cot or any other means to sleep. Naga sadhus are even prohibited from sleeping on a mattress. Naga sadhus sleep only on the ground. This is a very strict rule, which every Naga sadhu has to follow.
