First let's know where giving rooms to unmarried couples has stopped

First of all, know that this new rule (Oyo will not give rooms to unmarried couples) has not been implemented in all the cities yet. Right now this new rule has been started only in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh. The company has clearly told the hotel operators that in any case, offline or online, rooms should not be given to couples who are not married. At the same time, if a couple books a room, then the room should be given only after seeing their marriage certificate.

That's why Oyo changed the rule

If we talk about why Oyo changed its old rule, then it was done because many social organizations were appealing to Oyo not to give rooms to unmarried couples. Especially in Meerut, a request was received to take action in this matter, after which this new decision was implemented by the company only in Meerut for the time being.

While Oyo has changed the rules for booking rooms for unmarried couples, there are some people for whom no changes have been made in the rules. This includes the following people:-

Family

Religious tourists

Business tourists.

Will people from Delhi-NCR not get rooms?

This new rule has not been implemented for couples from Delhi-NCR as the company has implemented this new rule only in Meerut. On the other hand, Oyo plans to implement it in other cities based on the feedback coming from other cities. At present, unmarried couples from Delhi-NCR will get rooms, but if the company can expand this new rule, then it may create problems for unmarried couples from Delhi-NCR.
