Premanand Maharaj: While bathing, on which part of the body should water be poured first? Premanand Maharaj told, what is the classical method
Bathing is such an activity in our life, which not only cleans your body, but also makes you feel mentally fresh. Bathing after waking up every morning and doing daily chores is a daily routine for all of us. While bathing in the harsh cold, most people take a bath with hot water. At the same time, there are many people who bathe with cold water even in this harsh winter. But have you ever thought that on which part of the body should water be poured first while bathing? Premanand Maharaj has told that the classical method of bathing has also been told in our religious texts.
While bathing, pour water on this part first
Premanand Maharaj tells, 'Always use cold water while bathing. Also, the classical method says that first of all one should bathe from the navel. First put water in the navel and then take bath. People who follow celibacy should follow this method. Also, while taking bath, do not use soap and soda which is made in the factory. You will not need it. Dirt accumulates in your body when you apply oil. Because dirt sticks to oil. You should apply Raj (mud), it will never get dirt on the body.'
Premanand Maharaj tells the celibates, 'If you want to clean your hair, then clean it with soapnut or such holy things. How can you become a celibate by applying fragrant soap. When you use such things while taking bath, it creates attachment. The skin will remain clean on its own if you do not apply oil. If you are in celibacy, then what is the need to apply oil? Bathing with cold water is very necessary for a brahmachari.
Types of bath
Four types of baths have been mentioned in the scriptures. Bathing under the shade of stars before sunrise is called Rishi bath. Bathing during Brahma Muhurta is called Brahma bath. Bathing with the invocation mantra of holy rivers is called 'Dev bath'. Bathing after sunrise and after eating and drinking is called 'Danav bath'.
