First know what is Vikalp Yojana?
If you also travel by train or are going to travel, then it is very important for you to know about Vikalp Yojana. This is because this scheme can be very useful if you get a waiting train ticket. If we talk about this scheme, then under Vikalp Yojana, those passengers are given a confirmed seat in another train who have got a waiting train ticket at the time of booking.
This scheme was started by Indian Railways in the year 2016 and at present many people are taking advantage of it. This facility is available at all railway stations across the country, in which if you get a waiting train ticket, then you can be given a confirmed seat in another train.
How to get a confirmed seat in another train?
As under the Vikalp scheme, passengers with waiting tickets are given confirmed train tickets. For this, passengers have to choose the option of alternative train while booking the train ticket. Here they have to give some additional information. Then when the passenger gives his information, then if seats are available in any other train of the same route, then you are given a confirmed seat. However, know here that you can get a confirmed seat only when there is a seat vacant in a train and you have chosen the option of alternative train while booking the train ticket.
