Year Ender 2024: Ashok Gehlot and Other Leaders Face Disappointment in Their Political Dreams

As 2024 nears its end, while many political figures like PM Modi have seen their fortunes rise, several prominent leaders, especially in Rajasthan, have faced major setbacks. Among them, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, along with others like Kirori Lal Meena, Brijendra Singh Ola, and Hanuman Beniwal, experienced political disappointments, despite their efforts to involve their relatives in politics.

Ashok Gehlot

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot faced a significant political blow in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He had tried to get his son, Vaibhav Gehlot, a Congress ticket for the Sirohi seat, but despite his best efforts, his son could not secure a victory in the elections.

Kirori Lal Meena

Kirori Lal Meena, a prominent leader who had served as a cabinet minister in the Bhajanlal government, also faced disappointment in 2024. In the Rajasthan Assembly by-election, he failed to secure a win for his brother, Jagmohan Meena, on the Dausa seat.

Brijendra Singh Ola

Brijendra Singh Ola, a senior Congress leader, could not win the Jhunjhunu Assembly seat for his son, Amit Ola, during the by-election. Despite his support, his son did not succeed in securing the seat.

Hanuman Beniwal

Hanuman Beniwal, the leader of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), also suffered a defeat in 2024. He had fielded his wife, Kanika Beniwal, in the Khimsar seat after he vacated it due to his victory in the Nagaur Lok Sabha elections. However, despite his confidence, she was unable to secure a win.

These setbacks have been a major disappointment for these leaders, who had high hopes for their relatives’ success in the political arena.
