Sam's debut was memorable

Sam made his debut in the Boxing Day Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He made his debut memorable by scoring 60 runs in 65 balls by joining the team in place of Nathan McSweeney. In the initial overs, he played Bumrah's balls easily, which thrilled the audience. However, Bumrah dismissed him in the second innings.

'It was a childhood dream'

Sharing his experience, Sam said, 'It was amazing to play in front of 90000 spectators on the first day at the MCG. It was my childhood dream to play against legends like Kohli and Bumrah and with players like Steve Smith and Pat Cummins. I was trying to enjoy every moment.'

'I am a big fan of him'

During the match, there was a confrontation between Kohli and Sam, when Kohli collided with Sam in the middle of the over. But after the match, both of them talked, in which Kohli wished Sam all the best for the Sri Lanka tour. 19-year-old Sam said, 'After the match, I spoke to Kohli and told him that I am a big fan of his. It is an honor to play against him. His impact on the field was tremendous. Indian fans were taking his name loudly. All this was very special.'

Said this in praise of Kohli

He further said, 'Kohli is very humble and kind. He wished me all the best for the Sri Lanka tour. Everyone in my family likes him and I am his fan since childhood. He is a legend of the game.' Sam also had a heated moment with Bumrah in the Sydney Test.

Also spoke about the clash with Bumrah
Sam revealed that he had tried to waste time so that India could not bowl another over before the end of the day. Bumrah got angry at this. Sam said, "I think this was a learning opportunity for me. I tried to waste time, but Bumrah got me out. He is a world class player. If this incident happens again, then maybe I will not do this.
