Former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has filed a defamation case against former captain Wasim Akmar and Waqar Younis for harassment and harming his career. He released a video informing him about it.

Akram and Younis used to trouble him.

A pre-recorded video of Mushtaq Ahmed was released on a Pakistani TV show in which the Bangladesh coach accused Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis of trying to suppress his confidence when he played international cricket.

There will be a loss of 35 crores.

Mushtaq talked about filing a defamation case against the former captains of Pakistan during this time. He said that notices had been sent to both the cricketers. Mushtaq talked about filing a defamation case of Rs 20 crore (Pakistani rupees) against Waqar Younis and Rs 15 crore against Wasim Akram. After his statement, Waqar also apologized, but Akram refused to do so and said that he would now see Mushtaq in court.

'I know how to fight'

In his statement, Mushtaq alleged that both Akram and Younis made fun of him on the show and undermined his role as a coach. Expressing his displeasure, he said, my lawyers will soon send legal notices to both of them. He further made personal comments on Waqar and said in Punjabi, tell Waqar Younis that battles are not won by height. Don't judge me by my height; I know how to fight.

In response to this, Younis said, I don't have 200 million Pakistani rupees, so I sincerely apologize to my brother. He then urged Mushtaq to forgive him and said, I hope you will clear your heart and forgive us. If not, we have other ways to deal with you.

Accused Akram of hurting his confidence
The former leg-spinner claimed that Wasim Akram deliberately damaged his confidence at the start of his career. He recalled, that Wasim used to take me for practice and bowl bouncers at me, which dented my confidence. Due to this, I lost all faith in myself. Otherwise, I could have been one of the greatest all-rounders of Pakistan.

In response, Akram said, you were never going to be a night watchman. Every time you were sent in, you got out on a duck. So, I will see you in court.
