A controversy has erupted following the announcement of a film titled *Rambola*—based on the life of the great poet Goswami Tulsidas, author of the *Ramcharitmanas*—on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi this Monday.

**Controversy Surrounding the Film**
The film *Rambola* was announced by Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, the director of *Hanuman Ansh* (which grossed over ₹220 crore at the box office). This new film is being produced by Mahavir Jain.

The announcement was made via the Instagram handle of his production house, Mahavir Jain Films. Meanwhile, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi also announced his own film titled *Rambola*.

Sharing the film's poster on Instagram, he wrote, "He gave India a weapon that no empire could defeat." He is both writing and directing this film, which is being produced by Madhu Mantena and Mandira Dwivedi.

**Film Announced Without Prior Notice**
It is worth noting that Goswami Tulsidas's birth name was Rambola Dubey. Legend has it that he was blessed with a vision of Lord Hanuman himself, and it was under Hanuman's guidance that he composed the *Ramcharitmanas*. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi has objected to Mahavir Jain announcing a film with the title *Rambola*. Speaking to *Dainik Jagran*, Dwivedi stated that he holds the registration for this title and had been in discussions with Mahavir Jain regarding the project.

**Information Had Already Been Shared**
He mentioned that details regarding the film—including an eight-minute audio-visual presentation—had been emailed to Jain last March. "I am not claiming that no one else has the right to this story; every citizen does. However, the question is: how did this story reach the other party? The Film Writers Association and the courts will decide on this matter." Attempts to contact Mahavir Jain for a response were unsuccessful.

It is worth noting that following the success of *Hanuman Ansh*, the film's writer-director, Vishal Chaturvedi, announced this new project in collaboration with Mahavir Jain. It remains to be seen what Vishal Chaturvedi and Mahavir Jain will say regarding this situation.
