Devshayani Ekadashi 2026: The fast of Devshayani Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi tithi (eleventh day) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the Ashadha month. According to religious belief, on this day, Lord Vishnu, accompanied by Goddess Lakshmi, enters a state of cosmic slumber (*Yoganidra*) for four months. With the Lord entering this slumber, *Chaturmas*—a four-month holy period—begins. This day holds special significance in the scriptures; from its commencement until its conclusion, all auspicious and celebratory activities are suspended. It is believed that during this time, Lord Shiva assumes the responsibility of governing the universe. Let us find out when Devshayani Ekadashi will be celebrated this year and which activities are considered auspicious on this day.
