Cyber crimes are increasing rapidly across the country, especially digital frauds where victims realize the damage only after losing large amounts from their bank accounts. In the first three quarters of the current financial year (FY25), 13,384 cases of cyber fraud were reported, with a total loss of ₹107.21 crore.

Step-by-Step Guide to File a Complaint Online:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to cybercrime.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, click ‘File a Complaint’.
  3. Read the Terms & Conditions and agree to proceed.
  4. Select the type of cybercrime you want to report.
    • Choose ‘Report Other Cyber Crime’.
  5. Click on Citizen Login, and enter your details.
  6. Verify your identity by entering the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  7. Complete the Captcha and click ‘Submit’.

Filling Out the Complaint Form:

  1. Enter all the details of the crime carefully in the relevant sections.
  2. Upload Evidence: Attach bank statements, transaction details, and any suspicious messages/emails.
  3. Click ‘Save and Next’.
  4. If you have any information about the suspect, provide it in the next section.
  5. Review your complaint and click ‘Submit’. You will receive a confirmation message and complaint ID via email.
