High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure has become a common health problem in today's society. Sometimes it is also called a 'silent killer', because its initial symptoms are such that a person usually does not pay attention to it. It gradually damages the vital organs of the body, such as the heart, kidney, and brain. There can be many causes of high blood pressure, including genetics, age and some medical conditions. However, experts believe that apart from all this, some of our habits are also such that the risk of high blood pressure increases significantly.

People who have a bad lifestyle can often have problems with high or low blood pressure. Let's take a look at some such common habits that can cause high blood pressure. If you are also a victim of any of these habits, then be careful today and try to change them.
1. Not taking a balanced diet
What we eat has a direct effect on our blood pressure. Excessive salt intake is the biggest enemy of high blood pressure. Salty snacks, packaged food, fast food, and fried food contain a lot of sodium, which can increase blood pressure. Excessive consumption of red meat and lack of fruits and vegetables also cause this. An unbalanced diet increases weight and damages blood vessels.
2. Sedentary lifestyle (lack of physical activity)
In today's fast-paced life, many people sit on chairs for hours or avoid physical exertion. Not doing regular exercise or any kind of physical activity is called a 'sedentary lifestyle'. Lack of physical activity leads to weight gain, weakened muscles, and the heart has to work harder to function properly. In such a situation, exercise strengthens the heart and helps in controlling blood pressure.
3. Not paying attention to the problem of mental stress
Stress is a part of our life, but chronic or long-term stress can be dangerous for blood pressure. In a state of stress, the body releases stress hormones (such as cortisol), which increase heart rate and constrict blood vessels. If stress persists, it can gradually become a permanent cause of high blood pressure. 4. Not getting enough sleep
Adequate and good-quality sleep is very important for our physical and mental health. When we sleep, our body regulates stress hormones and controls blood pressure. Lack of sleep or frequent sleep interruption disrupts these processes. Not getting enough sleep for a long time increases the risk of increasing blood pressure. In such a situation, adults must get at least 7-8 hours of good sleep.
