During the summer, water tanks often heat up under the sun, causing the bathwater to become excessively hot. Bathing with such water can lead to skin irritation, itching, and redness. Furthermore, this issue can be particularly distressing for small children. If you are experiencing this problem, there is no need to panic; you can easily find relief by adopting a few simple home remedies.

1. **Balance the Water Temperature**
The most important rule is to avoid bathing directly with extremely hot water.
Allow the water from the tank to run through the tap for a few moments.
If possible, mix in some cold water.
Bathe only with lukewarm water.
Excessively hot water strips the skin of its natural moisture, thereby increasing irritation.
2. **Cool Down After Bathing**
If you experience skin irritation after your bath:
Gently dab your skin with cold water.
Alternatively, place a cloth soaked in cold water on your body.
This provides immediate cooling relief to the skin and reduces irritation.
3. **Apply Aloe Vera Gel**
Aloe Vera is a natural cooling agent.
Apply pure Aloe Vera gel to your skin after bathing.
It helps reduce irritation, redness, and dryness.
It also keeps the skin hydrated.
4. **Use Coconut Oil**
If your skin has become dry and irritated:
Gently apply coconut oil to your skin after your bath.
This helps restore the skin's moisture.
It also provides relief from irritation.
5. **Use a Mild Soap or Body Wash**
Often, soaps containing harsh chemicals can cause greater damage to the skin when combined with hot water.
Always use a mild, moisturizing soap.
Avoid using excessive amounts of soap.
6. **Prevent the Tank from Overheating**
It is also essential to address the root cause of the problem:
Position your water tank in a shaded area.
You can also install a protective cover over the tank or have it painted white.
This will help keep the water from becoming too hot.
7. Use of Khus or Rose Water
You can also bathe by adding a small amount of rose water or Khus extract to your bathwater.
This provides a cooling effect to the body.
And leaves the skin feeling refreshed.
Keep in Mind:
If you experience severe burning sensations or rashes, consult a doctor.
Avoid bathing with hot water frequently.
Maintain proper hydration levels in the body.
