Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill expressed satisfaction over the victory against England in Birmingham and said that whenever he retires from cricket, this victory will remain in his memories. India defeated England by 336 runs in the second Test match to level the five-match series 1-1. Gill performed brilliantly with the bat in this match for India, and after scoring a double century in the first innings, he also scored a century in the second innings.

India had never won in Birmingham.
Gill has been made the captain of the Test team in place of Rohit Sharma. Under Gill's leadership, India had to face defeat in the Leeds Test, but India made a comeback in Birmingham and leveled the series. India had not won a Test in Birmingham so far, but they broke the spell of Edgbaston and won here for the first time.
In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Gill said, This is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I think whenever I retire, this will be one of my fondest memories. I had to take the last catch of this match, and I am very satisfied and happy that we were able to win this match. There are three more important matches to be played. There will be a rapid change after this match, and I think it is good because now the rhythm is with us.
Gill said - everyone performed their responsibilities well.
Gill said that all the players performed their responsibilities well in this match. He said, the way everyone contributed with the ball and bat is a very positive thing. This is what makes a team a champion and this is a good sign for us. We have worked very hard to achieve this position. I know how difficult it is to win a Test match, especially on this ground (Edgbaston) where we had not won any Test before.
Gill said, I just want to say that I am proud of all of you, because I think on the first day we said that to win a Test match, we all have to contribute and everyone contributed to it.
