In this season, woolen clothes often have to be worn in many layers. Many times due to cold, people sleep wearing woolen clothes, due to which lint starts coming out.
Lint on sweaters and shawls is a common problem. When more lint comes out, woolen clothes start looking old. In such a situation, people avoid wearing lint clothes and put them aside. Due to this, here are some home remedies, with which you can remove lint on sweaters and shawls.
Use a brush
Brush the woolen clothes lightly with a soft brush. This will help in keeping the surface of the cloth clean and remove the lint. While using a brush, keep in mind that never brush too hard, as it can lead to the risk of breaking the woolen threads.
Take the help of tape
If the hairs are very small, you can use scotch tape. Apply the tape lightly on the cloth and pull it, this will make the hairs stick and come out. For this, the tape should be of good quality, otherwise the hairs will not stick to it.
Use vinegar
Mixing one spoon of white vinegar in water and washing the woolen cloth by dipping it lightly in it helps in removing the hairs. Vinegar not only saves the structure of the cloth but also cleans the hairs and dirt. Do not add too much vinegar while using it, otherwise the color of the cloth can change.
Use a comb
Take a soft-bristled comb and move it lightly on the woolen cloth. This removes the small hairs. While using the comb, keep in mind that do not comb too hard, as it can break the woolen thread. Do not use a very thin comb for this.
Use a lint remover
There is a lint remover available in the market which does not require any battery or wire to use. It is like a rolling pin. It is very easy to use.
Use an electric tool
A plastic electric tool is also available in the market to remove lint. It can be used to remove lint from sweaters, jackets, or shawls. It works on batteries and can also be used with a wire.
