Parenting: What to do if your child falls out of bed? A pediatrician explains what parents should do first..

What to Do If Your Child Falls Off the Bed: A child falling off the bed can be a frightening experience for any parent. Often, children fall off the bed at night while sleeping, turning over, or playing. In such a situation, it is crucial to remain calm and take the right steps instead of panicking. Parents often get scared and don't know what to do. Therefore, today we are going to tell you about 4 important steps that will help you understand your child's condition correctly and provide immediate help. This information has been shared by pediatrician Dr. Arpit Gupta through a video on his Instagram handle. Let's find out...

First Step
Dr. Arpit explains that if your child is crying after falling off the bed, first of all, don't panic. Crying means the child is conscious, which is considered a good sign. In such a case, try to calm the child gently.

Second Step
According to Dr. Arpit, if the child is continuously vomiting after the fall, is excessively sleepy, has bleeding from the nose or ears, or their hands and feet are stiff and rigid, do not take it lightly. In such a case, first, comfort the child and consult a doctor immediately so that timely treatment can be given.

Third Step
If a bump or swelling appears on the child's head or any part of the body after falling from the bed, parents should first apply a cold compress for 10 to 15 minutes. A cold compress helps reduce swelling and also relieves pain caused by internal injuries. Additionally, if the swelling is very severe or the child is crying continuously due to pain, it is better to consult a doctor.

Fourth Step
According to Dr. Arpit, parents should carefully observe the child for at least 24 hours after the fall. During this time, it is very important to monitor the child's behavior, activities, and physical symptoms. In that case, if the child is playing normally, eating and drinking properly, and there is no change in their behavior, then there is no need to worry.
