Rajat Patidar has been a part of the RCB team since 2021. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League from this team. The debut of this player was not very special and RCB decided to release him.

In the year 2021, when the team dropped Rajat Patidar, he turned to the auction. In the auction held for the next season i.e. the 2022 tournament, no team showed interest in buying him. Unsold Rajat said yes to his family for marriage.

After Rajat Patidar agreed, his family talked about his marriage and also confirmed it. The amazing thing is that after the wedding date was fixed when the cards were distributed and the hotel was also booked. This player got a call from RCB.

In the 2022 IPL auction, Rajat Patidar, who remained unsold, was signed by RCB in place of injured Lavneet Sisodia. He canceled his marriage for this big opportunity.

Rajat Patidar got a chance to play in the 2022 Eliminator for RCB. He led the team to victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 112 runs in just 49 balls and then never looked back. Rajat Patidar became the first uncapped player to score a century in the IPL playoffs. Next year i.e. in 2023, RCB retained Rajat Patidar.

Patidar was signed by RCB in place of Lavneeth Sisodia at a base price of Rs 20 lakh and now he has been made the captain of the team. Rajat's father Manohar Patidar had revealed during an interview that his son had cancelled his marriage to play for RCB.

Rajat's father had said that he had fixed his son's marriage with a girl from Ratlam. Hotels were booked and the wedding was to take place on 9 May 2022. Due to the call from RCB, Rajat decided to postpone the wedding.
