According to the news agency IANS, sources within the Mumbai Police revealed that an individual named Harry Boxer, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, called Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor and demanded a ransom of five crore rupees. The actor informed the Mumbai Police, who subsequently handed the investigation over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch.

What did the Crime Branch investigation reveal?
The Crime Branch’s technical team analyzed the audio recording of the threatening call and compared the voice against official audio samples of Harry Boxer held in their database. According to senior police officials, the samples did not match, suggesting that the call was a hoax. It appears that someone used the gang's name to instill fear. The police are now searching for the individual who sent the audio recording.
