Virat Kohli Denies Captaincy: Before the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Virat Kohli reportedly refused to become the captain. The former Indian captain refused to captain Delhi in the Ranji Trophy being played these days. Kohli can be seen playing for Delhi in the last league match of the second phase of the Ranji Trophy.

The report said that there was talk of giving captaincy to Kohli for the last league match of the second phase, but he refused to take the captaincy. Delhi's team will play the last league match against Railways from January 30. Through this match, Kohli can make a comeback in Ranji Trophy after 12 years. 

Let us tell you that before this, Rishabh Pant had also done the same before taking over the command of Delhi. Pant played the match against Saurashtra for Delhi. However, he could not do anything special. While batting in the first innings of the match, Pant returned to the pavilion on 01 run and in the second innings on 17 runs. 

Virat Kohli refuses captaincy 

According to a report by Cricblogger, Virat Kohli has refused to captain Delhi for the match to be played against Railways. Kohli refused to become the captain of the team saying that he is not well aware of the team and the eco-system. Let us tell you that Kohli missed the first match of the second phase played against Saurashtra. Reports said that Kohli had a pain in his neck, about which the Indian batsman had informed the BCCI. 

But now Kohli can be seen playing for Delhi in the match against Railways. Before the match against Railways, Kohli was seen in the nets with former Team India batting coach Sanjay Bangar.
