Ahead of 'Ramayana' Release, Ranbir Kapoor Buys Land in the City of Ram; Says, "Ayodhya Has Chosen Me"..

Ranbir Kapoor is currently making headlines regarding his upcoming film, *Ramayana*. Amidst this, he has purchased a plot of land in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. A real estate firm confirmed this development on Thursday.

**Investment Worth ₹3.31 Crore**
According to an official statement, the transaction involved a 2,134-square-foot plot of land, acquired for approximately ₹3.31 crore. This plot is part of 'The Sarayu' project—a 75-acre plotted development situated along the banks of the Sarayu River.
**What Did Ranbir Kapoor Say?**
Speaking about this investment, Kapoor stated, "I believe that Ayodhya has chosen me. I have simply answered this calling. Ayodhya is deeply embedded in our history and constitutes a vital part of our cultural fabric. This land at 'The Sarayu' served as a conduit for me to ensure that it becomes a part of my legacy for my family."
**Amitabh Bachchan Has Also Purchased Property**
In addition to Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan has also acquired four properties in Ayodhya. According to *HT*, in 2025, the veteran actor purchased a 25,000-square-foot plot in the city for ₹40 crore. He has also invested ₹14.5 crore in 'The Sarayu' project, securing a 54,000-square-foot plot. This property is registered in the name of the trust established by Amitabh's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

**Ranbir Kapoor's Work Front**
Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen portraying the character of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's film, *Ramayana*. The first installment of the film is slated for release on Diwali 2026. He also has *Love & War* in the pipeline, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. This film is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
