The risk of heart disease is increasing rapidly at the global level, and people of all ages are falling prey to it. The way cases of heart attack and cardiac arrest are increasing among younger people in recent years is a matter of serious concern. Apart from genetics, lifestyle and eating disorders have been considered the main reasons for this.

Recently, a team of experts has made a big claim regarding heart health. It has been said that the heart of most adults is aging faster than the rest of their bodies. Due to this, the risk of heart health-related problems is also increasing at a young age. People who are already at risk of heart disease genetically should be even more careful.
To understand this problem, a team of experts has also prepared a free online test, with the help of which the age of the heart can be estimated. Apart from this, the team has expressed concern that there are a large number of people who do not have the right information about their heart health, nor are they taking treatment to cure it.
Most people are not aware of their heart health.
For this study published in the JAMA Cardiology journal, researchers studied more than 14,000 American people aged 30 to 79 under the National Health and Nutrition Examination between 2011 and 2020. Using this data, the team of researchers tried to understand the heart age of the participants.
Dr. Sadia Khan, professor of cardiology at Northwestern University and lead author of the study, says, many people who should take medicines and get treatment to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke or heart failure, are not doing so. This situation may increase your risks even more.
Tool to detect heart age
Researchers have developed a new free online test to find out how old your heart is, claiming that it can be helpful in estimating how healthy the heart is and its age and keeping the heart healthy.
Routine health data includes blood pressure, cholesterol levels, risk of chronic diseases and lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, which have been considered markers of health damage. All these things are assessed in this test, health experts say.

Heart disease and related risks
Until now, heart disease risks have been calculated in percentages, leaving many patients unsure about how likely they are to develop potentially fatal heart disease. Traditionally, doctors assess a patient's medical reports to tell them that eight out of ten people with your profile may suffer a cardiac event in the next 10 years.
However, now this new tool, based on data provided by the American Heart Association, can define heart disease risks based on age, making it easier to understand how much strain is on your heart.
