Alert: Obesity can cause not only diabetes and high blood pressure, but also 61 other life-threatening diseases; be careful..

The problem of overweight and obesity is rapidly increasing globally. Experts believe that this problem is turning into a serious epidemic. More than one billion people worldwide are suffering from obesity or being overweight. The rate of obesity has more than doubled since 1990.  People of all ages, from children to adults, are affected, and we need to be vigilant about this.

Health experts say that obesity is not just a problem that affects your appearance; it is also a breeding ground for many diseases. Given the rate at which this problem is growing, it is estimated that by 2030, approximately 3 billion people could be overweight or obese.

A recent study published in the journal Communication Medicine reported that health experts have found that obesity can cause up to 86 percent of chronic diseases. This increases the risk of not only heart disease and diabetes but also many other serious health problems.

Obesity is the cause of many serious diseases.

To understand how obesity affects our overall health, a team of experts conducted a study. This study highlighted the risks associated with weight gain and the chronic diseases it causes.

Researchers found that being overweight is generally considered a major cause of chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, and diabetes. However, its side effects can be far more extensive.

People suffering from obesity are at increased risk of developing about 61 types of life-threatening diseases. This is why everyone needs to continuously take measures to keep their weight under control.

Increased risk of serious diseases in people with high BMI

A team from the University of Exeter, England, analyzed 71 different diseases that commonly occur together, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and osteoarthritis. They tried to understand whether obesity is a risk factor for these diseases.

The researchers used genetic and health data from thousands of people whose Body Mass Index (BMI) was over 30. These individuals showed an increased risk of 61 out of 71 disease combinations, which is approximately 86 percent.

The diseases for which obese individuals had a higher risk included chronic kidney disease and lung diseases, as well as gout and sleep apnea, and problems related to several vital organs, including diabetes.
