This special occasion of worshipping Goddess Durga will conclude on Vijayadashami, October 2nd. According to scriptures, this time is highly auspicious for worshipping the Goddess. During this time, devotees worship Goddess Durga with complete devotion and faith, both in their homes and in puja pandals. Many devotees also fast for the entire nine days and ritually worship all forms of the Goddess. Furthermore, on Ashtami and Navami, there is a tradition of worshipping girls at home. On these days, girls are worshipped and fed, considering them to be manifestations of the Goddess. It is believed that doing so bestows the full benefits of the fast and worship. This time, Ashtami Tithi will begin on September 29th at 4:31 pm. The Tithi will end on September 30th at 6:06 pm. Recognizing the Udaya Tithi, Durga Ashtami will be valid on September 30th. After this, Navami Tithi will begin and last until 7:02 pm on October 1st. Therefore, Navami will be celebrated on October 1st, 2025.
Auspicious Time for Kanya Pujan on Ashtami
According to the Panchang, the first auspicious time for Kanya Pujan on Ashtami will be from 5:00 am to 6:12 am. The second auspicious time is from 10:40 am to 12:10 pm.
Auspicious Time for Kanya Pujan on Navami Tithi
According to the Panchang, Kanya Pujan can be performed on Navami Tithi from 4:53 am to 5:41 am. Additionally, you can perform Kanya Bhoj between 8:06 am and 9:50 am. However, Navami is valid until 7:02 pm on this date, so you can perform Kanya Pujan at other times as well.
Kanya Pujan Method
On the day of Kanya Pujan, first worship Goddess Durga.
Offer Halwa, Puri, and gram to the Goddess.
Now, have girls aged two to nine years sit at home for Kanya Bhoj.
Wash the girls' feet and apply a tilak to them, then feed them Halwa, Puri, Kheer, and some fruit.
Now, give some money or gifts to the girls and wish them happiness and prosperity.
Finally, touch the girls' feet and ask for forgiveness for any mistakes committed knowingly or unknowingly.
