Common Causes of Back Pain: In the past, back pain was considered a common symptom of aging, but today this problem is rapidly spreading among young people and even teenagers. The main reason behind this is our modern and sedentary lifestyle. When we sit hunched over or work while lying down, the natural curve of the spine is disrupted, causing strain on the muscles and ligaments.

Ignoring this problem can lead to a permanent condition that can be very serious. This rising graph of back pain in young people clearly indicates that we need to immediately improve our daily routines and physical habits.
Poor Posture and Screen Time
The biggest cause of back pain at a young age is poor posture. People spend hours hunched over mobile or computer screens, a condition often referred to as 'text neck'. A forward-leaning head puts excessive pressure on the spine, causing tension and stiffness in both the upper and lower back muscles.
Weak Core Muscles
Our core muscles (abdominal and lower back muscles) support the spine. Due to a lack of physical activity, these muscles become weak. When the core muscles cannot provide adequate support, extra pressure is put on the spine, leading to pain even while sitting, standing, or bending.
Overweight Bags and Stress
In school-going children and young people, the habit of carrying excessively heavy bags on one shoulder puts unbalanced pressure on the spine. In addition, excessive mental stress also tightens the back muscles, causing pain due to tense muscles.
Poor Sleep Quality and Mattresses
Our sleep quality and sleeping surface also play a significant role in back pain. Mattresses that are too soft or too hard do not provide proper support to the spine, leading to strain on the back muscles due to sleeping in an incorrect posture. Sleeping in the correct posture and using a medium-firm mattress can provide pain relief.
