How many days will banks be closed in May?
May 1: Banks will remain closed in several regions—including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal—on account of Buddha Purnima and May Day.
May 9: Banks in West Bengal will remain closed in observance of Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.
May 16: Banks will observe a holiday in Gangtok on account of State Day, and in Agartala on May 26 to mark the birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
May 27: Banks will remain closed on account of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) in the following locations:
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun
Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima
Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla
Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada
May 28: Banks will remain closed on account of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Jaipur, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, and Srinagar.

Banks to remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays:
May 9: Banks across the entire country will observe a holiday on the second Saturday of the month.
May 23: Banks across the entire country will observe a holiday on the fourth Saturday of the month.
