He said that when the player is going through a bad phase during the tour, the role of the family member becomes important at that time.

News agency ANI quoted a BCCI source as saying that the board may change the rule of the duration of travel of players with their families. Players will have to get permission from the board to spend more time with their families on tour.

BCCI has made a new policy

After India's defeat during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India made new policies. Under this, family members of the players can stay together for a maximum of two weeks during the 45-day tour. On tours of shorter duration than this, players can keep their family with them for a maximum of one week.

Kohli had discussed this rule.

Talking about this rule of BCCI, star batsman Virat Kohli had said during the RCB program that, it is very difficult to explain to people how important it is to stay with the family whenever you are out and something is not going well with you. I don't think people understand the extent to which it affects them.

He said I feel very disappointed with this because it seems that people who have nothing to do with what is happening to the players are brought in the middle and put at the forefront. They should be kept away from these things. If you ask a player, do you want to keep your family around all the time? You will get the answer yes because I do not want to sit alone in the room and be sad. I want to live in a normal way. Then you can take your game as a responsibility. You fulfill that responsibility.

Players were seen with their families in the Champions Trophy
During the recently concluded Champions Trophy, the families of players like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami were also in Dubai but they were not staying in the team hotel. The expenses of the families were borne by the players themselves and not by the BCCI.
