Beauty Tips: How much water should you drink daily to enhance your facial glow? Find out from a dermatologist..

How many glasses of water should one drink for flawless skin? You've often heard, "Drink plenty of water, and your skin will glow naturally." Or that drinking water increases the natural glow of the skin. But do you know how much water you should drink for this, or does water really increase skin glow?  Renowned dermatologist Dr. Jushya Bhatia Sarin has shared a video on her YouTube channel addressing this. In this video, the skin doctor provides accurate information about water. Let's find out more:

Does drinking water really make your skin glow?
According to Dr. Jushya, water is extremely important for our bodies. It helps in delivering nutrients to our cells and keeps the skin healthy from within. When the body is dehydrated, the skin immediately looks dull, tight, and wrinkled. Therefore, water is essential for healthy skin.

How much water should you drink daily?
According to the doctor, 2 to 2.5 liters of water daily is considered ideal. If you work out or sweat a lot, you can drink up to 3 liters of water. Drinking more than that will not provide any additional benefits; it will only increase your trips to the restroom.

The doctor also advises against drinking too much water at once. She says that the body cannot utilize a large amount of water consumed at once. This can cause bloating, and you won't get the full benefits of the water.

Will drinking only water cure dry skin?
Answering this question, Dr. Jushya says that drinking only water is not enough for healthy and glowing skin. Even if your body is well-hydrated, your skin can still appear dry and lifeless on the outside. This is because sometimes water doesn't reach the outermost layer of the skin directly. If the skin barrier is weak, the body's water can also escape from the skin. In such cases, people with very dry skin need not only water but also a heavy moisturizer.

Therefore, to treat dry skin, along with drinking plenty of water, use a good moisturizer. According to doctors, ceramide-based moisturizers are best for dry skin because they strengthen the skin barrier.

Along with this, pay attention to your diet. Eat nutritious foods, wear sunscreen, and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Only then will your skin have a natural glow and look healthy.
