In Hinduism, the Pradosh Vrat is considered extremely auspicious and fruitful. This sacred fast is a wonderful way to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is believed that worshipping with complete devotion and proper rituals on this day removes sorrow and poverty from life and opens the doors to happiness, prosperity, and success in the home.

It is believed that if the Shivalinga is anointed with certain special items on the Pradosh Vrat in the month of Aghan, Lord Shiva is especially pleased. Doing so bestows the blessings of Mahadev upon the devotee, and financial difficulties gradually disappear from life. Acharya Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain explains that offering the right items to the Shivalinga on this holy day is considered extremely auspicious. The anointing performed on the Pradosh Vrat bestows blessings of good fortune, peace, and wealth and prosperity upon Shiva devotees. This day is considered a wonderful confluence of devotion, faith, and Shiva's grace.
