The final Pradosh Vrat of the month of Vaishakh falls on April 28, 2026—that is, today. Since it occurs on a Tuesday, it is known as 'Bhaum Pradosh Vrat' or 'Mangal Pradosh.' As Tuesday is dedicated to the planet Mars (Mangal), this fast is considered particularly significant for attaining freedom from debt, as well as for gaining courage and strength.

**Tithi (Lunar Day) and Auspicious Timings**
**Trayodashi Tithi Begins:** April 28, 2026, at 6:51 PM
**Trayodashi Tithi Ends:** April 29, 2026, at 7:51 PM
**Auspicious Time for Worship (Pradosh Kaal):** From 6:54 PM to 9:04 PM on the evening of April 28. Performing the *Abhishek* (ritual bathing) of the Shivling during this specific time is believed to fulfill all desires.
**Benefits of Bhaum Pradosh Vrat**
**Freedom from Debt and Land Disputes:** This fast is beneficial for obtaining relief from financial debts and for resolving disputes related to land and property.
**Alleviation of Mangal Dosha:** It mitigates the adverse effects of the planet Mars and helps resolve delays in marriage or difficulties within marital life.
**Mental Peace and Strength:** The act of worship and fasting brings tranquility to the mind, dispels negativity, and enhances an individual's physical strength and patience.
**Simple Worship Method**
In the morning, take a bath, wear clean clothes, and take a solemn pledge (*Sankalp*) to observe the fast. Throughout the day, consume only fruits (*Phalahar*) or observe a strict waterless fast (*Nirjala Vrat*).
In the evening (during the *Pradosh Kaal*), take a bath again and clean the designated area for worship.
Install an idol of Lord Shiva or a Shivling.
Perform the *Abhishek* of the Shivling using holy Ganges water, milk, yogurt, clarified butter (ghee), honey, and sugar. Additionally, offer *Belpatra* (Bael leaves), *Dhatura* flowers, *Bhang* (cannabis leaves), and white flowers.
Light a lamp (*Diya*) and recite the *Shiva Chalisa* or chant the *Mahamrityunjaya Mantra*.
Finally, whisper your specific wishes into the ear of Nandi (Lord Shiva's divine bull), perform the *Aarti* (ritual lamp ceremony) of Lord Shiva, and distribute the *Prasad* (sacred food offering). The fast is broken on the following day.
To seek the blessings of the planet Mars, donate red-colored clothes, red lentils (*Masoor Dal*), or jaggery (*Gur*).

Essential Rules for the Fast
**Avoid Anger:** On this day, telling lies, engaging in arguments, or losing one's temper is considered inauspicious. Since Mars is associated with anger, it is essential to remain calm.
**Show Respect:** Do not disrespect your parents, mentors, or elders. Cultivate a spirit of service and compassion.
**Refrain from Wrongdoing:** Abstain from acts such as theft, deception, or harboring ill thoughts toward others.
**Practice Celibacy:** Strictly observe celibacy on the day of the fast to ensure mental focus and to reap the full spiritual benefits of the worship.
