Speaking to ANI, Karisma revealed that she had initially turned down the role of Rita Brown when it was first offered to her. She was concerned about the logistics of traveling to Kolkata for the shoot. However, after the director, Abhinay Deo, explained the project to her, she immediately agreed to take on the role.
