Budh Pradosh Vrat: Receive Lord Shiva's blessings by following the correct worship method...

Budh Pradosh Vrat: In Hinduism, fasts and festivals are not merely traditions but are considered a means of bringing balance and positive direction to life. The Pradosh fast is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is observed on the Trayodashi (thirteenth) day of every lunar month. When this fast falls on a Wednesday, it is called Budh Pradosh Vrat. Wednesday is associated with intellect, speech, business, and career; therefore, this fast is considered especially beneficial for students, working professionals, and business people. The first Pradosh fast of the Paush month is special this time because it is being observed as Budh Pradosh. Astrologer and Vastu consultant Pandit Hitendra Kumar Sharma from Bhopal provides more information on this subject.

According to the Hindi Panchang (Hindu calendar), the Trayodashi tithi (thirteenth lunar day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the Paush month will begin at 11:57 PM on December 16th and continue until 2:32 AM on December 18th. The Pradosh period puja is being performed on December 17th, Wednesday, i.e., today. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva during the Pradosh period reduces life's complexities and brings peace of mind. Sadhana (spiritual practice) performed on this day is believed to clarify thoughts and strengthen decision-making abilities.

Significance of Budh Pradosh Vrat
The Budh Pradosh Vrat is directly associated with intellect, communication skills, and financial stability. This fast is considered very useful for those who frequently experience confusion in decision-making or are facing obstacles in their careers. Lord Shiva is considered the controller of all planets; therefore worshipping him provides relief from the ill effects associated with the planet Mercury (Budh). It is believed that devotion to Shiva on this day brings sweetness to speech and stability in work.
