3. You have to fast for Kalash Sthapana. If you have to fast for 9 days, then it is good, otherwise, you can fast on the first and Ashtami days.

4. The person doing Kalash Sthapana should not consume tamasic things a few days before. Do not consume garlic, onion, meat, alcohol, etc.

5. Follow the rules of celibacy during Chaitra Navratri.

6. Clay or brass Kalash should be used for Kalash Sthapana.

7. Light an Akhand Jyoti near the Kalash of Navratri. That lamp has to be lit continuously from the first day of Navratri till the ninth day.

8. Barley should be sown near the Kalash and it should be watered every day. You can know the auspicious and inauspicious signs from the color of barley.
