ChiChi Video: A dangerous scam spreads on social media in the name of Vera Hill, which could empty your bank account..

Keywords like "ChiChi Video Call Full" or "Vera Hill Viral Link" are trending on social media and Google searches. Claims are being made that a private video call of Philippine lifestyle and travel influencer Vera Hill (ChiChi) has been leaked, but according to cybersecurity experts and fact-checkers, no such video exists. This is a classic Ghost File Scam, a plot to lure users under the guise of a fake video.

How does this hacker honeytrap work?
Hackers create fake pages on Google and social media using keywords like "ChiChi Video Call Full" or "Vera Hill Viral Link." When you click on these links, you are:

Fake login page: You are asked to log in via Facebook or email in the name of age verification, which steals your passwords.

Malware installation: Under the guise of showing a video, you are asked to install a browser plugin or app, which is actually a keylogger (spyware).

IP and Data Capture: Clicking on a link gives hackers access to your IP address and device information.

How to Identify Scammers
Facebook Login: If a website asks for access to your social media account to display a video, it's likely a scam message.
Infinite Redirects: Repeatedly opening new pages after clicking a link.
Plugin Request: Messages like "Update the video player" or "Install a plugin."

Strange URL: The website address contains suspicious or random characters.

Legal Risks in India
Remember, viewing, sharing, or spreading someone's personal content (whether real, deepfake, or fake) is a serious offense in India under the IT Act 2000 and the Indian Penal Code. Falling into such leaked videos could land you in jail.

What to Do If You've Been a Victim?
Scan Immediately: Run a reliable antivirus program on your phone or laptop.
Change passwords: Immediately change your social media and banking passwords and turn on 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication).
Report: If you suspect financial fraud, immediately inform your bank. Also, report it to the cybersecurity number 1920.
Don't spread rumors: Don't forward any suspicious links.
