A page called Gossip TV on Instagram shared information about CID 2 going off the air. They claim that the final episode of CID 2 will air next month. Reports suggest that 13 years ago, the makers decided to bring back a second season, driven by the craze for the show. The show aired on Sony TV in December, but it failed in TRPs.

It was also reported that the TRP of this show, which had a strong viewership, reached only 0.8 in November, due to which the makers may take it off air. However, there has been no response from the makers of CID 2 yet.
