The mere mention of the coronavirus brings back memories of the 2020–23 period, when the virus brought the world to a near-standstill. Corona is once again a topic of discussion. A report published in *Amar Ujala* highlighted that approximately 80,000 infection cases were reported in China during June. Beyond China, fear regarding the coronavirus has also been observed among people in India over the past few weeks.

According to a report by the news agency PTI, approximately 339 cases of coronavirus were reported across the country between July 1 and July 16. Kerala recorded the highest number of cases at 115. This was followed by Karnataka (64), Maharashtra (43), Tamil Nadu (39), Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Delhi (18 each), Rajasthan (12), and cases in a few other states.
Discussions had intensified earlier in June following the emergence of infection cases in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. In Andhra Pradesh, 12 people have tested positive for the infection so far, while the virus has claimed four lives.
**Four deaths due to Corona in Andhra Pradesh**
Andhra Pradesh Health Commissioner G. Veerapandian stated on Thursday that 12 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state between June 26 and July 16. Four of these patients died.
The four individuals who passed away were already battling multiple serious underlying health conditions.
As these patients were already in a fragile state of health, the infection proved to be particularly dangerous for them.
Of the four deaths, three occurred in Kadapa district, while one person died in Kakinada district.
According to the Commissioner, the first COVID-19 patient in Andhra Pradesh was detected in Kadapa district on June 26. Subsequently, 11 new cases were reported between July 1 and July 16. The Health Department stated that two individuals contracted the infection through close proximity or sustained contact with an infected person. Patients Recovering Well
Health Commissioner G. Veerapandian stated that between June 26 and July 15, 67 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state. Of these, 11 individuals tested positive, while a 12th patient was found to be infected during testing at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
Three patients are currently in home isolation following medical advice, two are undergoing treatment in the hospital, and three have fully recovered and been discharged.
A reassuring aspect is that, so far, these cases have not been linked to any single locality or large group. The patients have emerged from various areas; therefore, the situation is not currently classified as a cluster infection. Many patients have recovered and returned home, some are undergoing treatment, and others are being monitored by doctors at home.

No Need to Panic About Corona
We had previously reported that singer and former *Bigg Boss* contestant Jaan Kumar Sanu tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized. According to reports, an increase in infection cases has also been observed in several locations across Maharashtra.
Health experts state that the positive aspect is that the disease appears to be mild in most infected patients. Common symptoms include a cold, sore throat, mild fever, cough, headache, or body aches. Patients recover through rest at home, adequate hydration, and medical advice. COVID-19 has now become endemic; there is no cause for panic or concern regarding it.
