Jaisalmer Desert Festival: If you think of the desert as quiet and still, the Jaisalmer Desert Festival might change your mind. The Jaisalmer Desert Festival is held every year in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This annual festival will take place this year from January 30th to February 1st. For three days, the area around the Sam Sand Dunes comes alive with music, colors, and rural charm.

Festival Highlights
The mornings begin with fun competitions. The turban-tying competition emphasizes both speed and style, but the most popular is the mustache competition, where men showcase their long, curled, and decorated mustaches. In addition to this, puppet shows, fire dances, acrobatics, and traditional bands liven up the atmosphere. The festival also features the Miss Pokhran competition, in which local women participate in traditional attire.
The Charm of Camels
Camels, the lifeblood of the desert, are a major attraction of this festival. Here you can witness camel races, camel polo, and beautifully decorated camels. As evening falls, fireworks light up the sky, and Jaisalmer's golden fort makes the spectacle even more magnificent. In previous years, artists like Jyoti Nooran and Kutle Khan have made the festival memorable with their spectacular performances.
Food and Shopping
At the food stalls, you can savor Rajasthani delicacies like Dal-Bati-Churma and Gatte ki Sabzi. The shopping area offers handicrafts, jewelry, and embroidered clothes, which make for excellent souvenirs.
