A concert by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled to take place on October 30 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. In light of this, stringent security arrangements are being put in place. Approximately 2,000 private security personnel will be deployed, and strict traffic regulations will be enforced. These measures follow discussions between the event organizers and the Delhi Police. Previously, the Delhi Police had temporarily withheld permission for the show due to security concerns.

How many security personnel will be deployed?
According to The Indian Express, officials had suggested increasing the number of security personnel to manage the large crowds expected at the stadium.
The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 55,000 people.
The number of private security guards has now been increased to 2,000, up from an initial 1,500.
The organizers had originally proposed deploying only 400 guards.
What will the additional security guards do?
The responsibilities of these additional security guards will include managing queues, staffing help desks, guiding ticket holders to their respective entry gates, and ensuring the smooth movement of people around the stadium.
Vehicles restricted near the event venue
To prevent traffic congestion, the police plan to designate a zone extending 500 to 700 meters around the stadium as a vehicle-free area, reserved exclusively for pedestrians. Only the artist’s convoy and vehicles with special event passes will be permitted to enter this restricted zone. Furthermore, the organizers have been instructed to arrange for additional parking and coordinate with cab services to ensure that attendees face no difficulties in arriving at or leaving the venue.
Delhi Police had initially withheld approval
This concert marks the beginning of Diljit’s 'DIL-LUMINATI India Tour'. Prior to this, the Delhi Police had informed the ticketing partner, 'BookMyShow', that the event could not be approved due to security-related risks and the additional responsibilities the police have during the festive season. Following this, the concert was left in a state of uncertainty for some time.

Organizers submitted documents
Subsequently, the organizers submitted a revised security document, addressing the operational concerns raised by the police. Following this, approval was granted, clearing the way for the event to take place as scheduled.
