Children today love fast food, but if your kids are fond of pizza, you can make a "Pizza Paratha" for them at home. This dish looks just like a pizza and serves as a healthy alternative to store-bought fast food. It is beneficial rather than harmful because it incorporates ingredients like green vegetables and protein-rich paneer (cottage cheese), which are excellent for children's health.

As for the ingredients required to make Pizza Paratha, start with standard wheat flour (the kind used for rotis). Then, gather fillings such as paneer, capsicum, onion, tomato, fresh coriander, and green chilies; you can also add other vegetables based on your preference. Finally, add spices to taste and a sprinkle of oregano to enhance the flavor.
**A Delicious Taste Just Like Pizza**
First, roll out a round roti and make a small slit in it to insert the filling. Fold the edges over the filling to shape it like a pizza, and cook it on a griddle (tawa) using mustard oil or *desi ghee* (clarified butter). When you slice and eat it, the filling inside offers a flavor profile reminiscent of pizza—complete with the cheesy experience—so children happily eat it, believing it to be pizza. This is a versatile recipe that children can enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and it is highly beneficial for their health. Even adults enjoy eating it, and it tastes delicious.
An alternative to store-bought pizza
Nisha, the creator of this recipe, spoke to Local 18 and explained the requirements for making a pizza paratha. While pizza is readily available outside, it isn't necessarily healthy. To make a pizza paratha, you need wheat flour to make the dough and a filling consisting of finely chopped vegetables—such as paneer, carrots, capsicum, onions, tomatoes, and coriander.
She mentioned that while you can shape the paratha however you like, giving it a pizza-like shape makes it look visually appealing, staying true to its name. After adding the filling and shaping it into a paratha, simply cook it on a griddle (tawa) just as you would a regular paratha. It takes only 10 to 15 minutes to prepare and tastes delicious.
