As exciting as sex seems, it is still difficult for some people to talk about it. The result of this hesitation and embarrassment is that people's minds have accumulated a lot of rubbish about sex. One such news arising from this rubbish is about infertility. Some people feel that infertility is increasing due to the use of condoms and other methods of contraception. Is this so? Or is it just a myth? To know this, we spoke to a fertility expert. Let's know the reality of these claims (condom effect on fertility) from Dr. Mitul Gupta, Senior Consultant Obstetrics Gynecology, Cocoon Hospital, Jaipur.

Condom and the problem of infertility (condom effect on fertility)
These days, many such news are coming out, in which the possibility of infertility is being told by using contraceptive and barrier methods to avoid pregnancy. People have a misconception that using condoms or other contraceptive measures can affect fertility in the future. Many people think this is true, while many people consider it a myth.
Condoms do not cause infertility.
Dr Mitul Gupta says, “Actually the use of condoms is only a temporary solution, which prevents the male sperm and the female egg from fertilizing each other. It does not have any permanent effect on the body parts. Many times people also think that long-term use of condoms can affect the quality of men's sperm, which is completely wrong. Condoms are only an external barrier, and it has nothing to do with sperm.”
Know the benefits of condoms.
1. Helps in avoiding unwanted pregnancy
Male condoms help you prevent pregnancy up to 98%, while female condoms are considered to be 95% effective. This is a very easy contraceptive method and can reduce the chances of unwanted pregnancy to a great extent. With its help, one can enjoy pleasurable sex without any tension.
2. Protect from STI
If you are having sex without a condom, then there is a complaint of sexually transmitted infection. Especially if your sexual partners keep changing. Therefore, you must use protection. Condoms prevent sexually transmitted infections, HIV, and other infections from being transferred from one person to another. By having unprotected sex, infectious germs can be transferred from the intimate area of one person to another. Due to this, the risk of fatal diseases increases.
3. Protect from other diseases
Condoms protect from other diseases spread due to sex, such as Zika and Ebola virus. Such problems are very serious, and can cause big trouble. Therefore, do not take risks in the name of concepts and always have protected sex.
4. Boost sexual pleasure
If a couple does not want pregnancy, and still has unprotected sex. In such a situation, there is a stress in their mind, due to which they are not able to enjoy sexual pleasure openly. Therefore, one should always have protected sex. Especially use condoms, this way you enjoy your sex session completely, and you also get help in reaching orgasm.
Correct information about sex is important
Dr. Mitul Gupta says, “Actually, these misconceptions spread due to lack of information or misinformation. It is important to understand that birth control measures are made to plan your life, not to harm your fertility. Only correct information helps in making the right decision. Do not believe these myths without reason. If you have questions related to fertility or contraceptive measures, always consult a specialist doctor.”
