Whether it is the rainy season or a packet was accidentally left open, it is very common for savory snacks (*namkeen*) to lose their crispness and become soggy. Biting into a soft, stale snack while enjoying a strong cup of evening tea can completely spoil the experience. Often, people throw such snacks in the trash because the taste and texture have deteriorated.

Well, there is no need to throw away your expensive or favorite snacks anymore. Today, we are sharing some magical and easy kitchen hacks that will restore the crunch and flavor of your snacks, making them taste brand new in just minutes.
**Microwave Magic**
If you have a microwave, start by spreading the soggy snack evenly on a microwave-safe plate. Then, place it in the microwave and heat it on high power for 30 to 40 seconds.
Remember, do not eat the snack immediately after taking it out; it might feel slightly soft at that moment. Let it cool down to room temperature for 2–3 minutes. You will notice that as it cools, its crispness returns completely.
**The Traditional Pan-Roasting Method**
If you do not have a microwave at home, do not worry at all; your stovetop and a pan can do the job perfectly. Place a heavy-bottomed pan or *kadhai* on the stove and let it warm up slightly. Add the soggy snack to it and reduce the flame to the lowest setting.
Keep stirring continuously with a spoon to prevent the snack from burning. Roast it for about 2 to 3 minutes, then turn off the heat. Transfer it to a plate and let it cool; your snack will become perfectly crispy.
**Using a Hot Roti Tawa**
After making *rotis* or *parathas*, the *tawa* (griddle) stays hot for quite some time. You can cleverly utilize this residual heat without burning any extra gas.
Turn off the gas immediately after making the rotis. Spread the softened *namkeen* (salty snack) evenly onto a clean steel plate and place the plate on the hot *tawa* (griddle). Leave it there for 10 to 15 minutes.

The heat from the *tawa* will gradually transfer through the plate to the *namkeen*, absorbing any moisture. Once the plate cools down, remove the *namkeen* and taste it; it will have become perfectly crispy again without any hassle.
To prevent *namkeen* from going soft in the first place, always store it in an airtight container after opening the packet. Placing a small piece of blotting paper or tissue paper inside the jar will help absorb excess moisture, keeping the *namkeen* fresh for longer.
