Bollywood's most iconic film Silsila starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha is all set to re-release in theatres. Even after four decades, the film is attracting audiences. Filmfare has reported that the film will be released on February 7. Recently, Filmfare shared this news on its Instagram handle, stating that the film will re-release on February 7. Interestingly, the casting of the film had its own story. Rekha and Jaya Bachchan's roles in Silsila became famous, but very few people know that Parveen Babi was first cast as the lead female.

Ranjit, who acted in the film, revealed in an interview with news agency ANI that Parveen was supposed to play the role earlier, but was replaced due to controversy. Eventually, the film went ahead with Rekha and Jaya Bachchan. In a 2006 interview with Filmfare magazine, Rekha talked about the power of her performance in Silsila. During that time, she particularly noticed an emotionally intense dialogue, which was like this, 'The sorrow is that I have inadvertently hurt you.'

Then Rekha praised Amitabh's craft, the way he portrayed love and passion in a real way. Referring to the clear tension between their characters on screen, she said, 'It is no wonder that the world believed that this triangle was real.' Now this story is going to be seen on screen again. However, nothing has been made official yet.

Talking about Amitabh Bachchan's work front, he is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati. He will also be seen acting in the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. Apart from this, he can also act in the remake of The Intern with Deepika Padukone. Let us tell you that Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She played Ranveer Singh's grandmother in the film. She will next be seen in Vikas Bahl's fun family entertainer 'Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling' alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vamika Gabbi. The makers announced the film today, along with releasing two pictures of the lead actors Jaya Bachchan, Siddhant, and Vamika as well as the director and producer of the film.
