Whether you're fasting for religious reasons, health reasons, or any other reason, the first thing you eat immediately after breaking the fast matters. Heavy food is prohibited immediately after the fast. In this article, we'll explore what's appropriate and what to avoid.
Foods to eat immediately after breaking the fast:
Hydrate the body
Be easy to digest
Be low in fat
Be low in fiber
These are the right foods to eat:
For energy: Immediately after breaking the fast, you can replace tea or coffee with fresh coconut water or lemon water. This will give you a quick boost of energy.
Boiled vegetables: This will preserve the nutrients and moisture of the vegetables. Vegetables like pumpkin or zucchini are light on your digestive system. Vegetables like potatoes and carrots also provide energy after the fast.
Banana: It is rich in potassium, which helps maintain hydration and digestion. Choose ripe bananas instead of raw ones; they are easier to digest.
Smoothie: You can make a smoothie by blending one or two fruits. Use low-fat milk or almond milk for this; it will be easier to digest.
Eat light: You can eat things like Rajgira roti, Khichdi, and bottle gourd vegetable. You can also pair it with low-fat yogurt raita or buttermilk.
Water: Dehydration is common during and after fasting, so be sure to drink plenty of water during and after fasting.

These things can be harmful after fasting:
Items with added sugars like cakes, candy, and soda
Fried, high-fat foods like samosas, kachoris, and ice cream
High-fiber vegetables or grains like cabbage, lentils, beans, and quinoa
Spicy foods.
