Whether you want to fill the tank of your car or your stomach, Google Maps can help you with both. All you have to do is tap on the Restaurant or Gas or Oil button at the top of the Maps home screen. You will start seeing relevant pins on the map. You will also get a list of places, their Google star rating, and all the necessary information about them.

Check for the cheapest ride.
When you book a ride to go anywhere, you first go to different apps (like Uber, Ola, Rapido, etc.) and check who is offering the cheapest ride. Isn't it… but how troublesome it is. You have to go to every app and write the address of the destination again and again. You can check the price of all in one place on Google Maps.

Type your destination in the search box in Google Maps, choose directions, and then add your starting location. Tap the icon of the person hailing a cab – you’ll find it in the list just below your destination. Google Maps will show you ride-sharing services in the area, along with the cost of each travel option. For example, along with Uber, you’ll also see UberPool, UberX, UberXL, etc. However, you’ll still need to go to the ride-sharing app to book your ride.

Share location by adjusting your Google Maps settings
Are you going on a weekend trip and want to make sure your mom or best friend can come with you? Google Maps allows you to share location. You can also customize the location timings to suit your needs, so that your friends or family members don’t spy on you.

To share location, tap your account icon and then tap Share Location. Tap Share Location and choose how long you want to share your location and who you want to share it with. You can also share locations on third-party apps like Facebook Messenger, Line, WhatsApp, and more.

Find public transportation
Finding the nearest bus or train in a new location can be tricky, but it's a must at times. Google Maps makes it easy. Just go to the Layers icon, select Transit and all the local transit options around you will appear on the map.

Learn the air quality in your area
Have allergies and want to see what the air quality is like before you head out? No problem. Open Google Maps, select the Layers icon and choose Air Quality from the menu. The air quality index for your location will pop up.
