Whenever we visit a Gurudwara on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti 2025, the first bite of the Prasad fills our hearts with immense peace. The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, will be celebrated on November 5, 2025.

This Prasad is not just a combination of flour, ghee, and sugar; it symbolizes devotion, equality, and the Guru's grace. Today, we will share a simple recipe for it (Kada Prasad Recipe), which requires only three main ingredients. Let's learn without delay.
Ingredients for Kada Prasad (ratio: 1:1:1)
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Desi ghee - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 3 cups (three times the amount of sugar)
How to make Kada Prasad
First, take 3 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar in a vessel.
Boil it over low heat until the sugar dissolves completely. We don't want to make a stringy syrup; we just need to dissolve the sugar.
Once the sugar dissolves, remove the mixture from the heat and set it aside to keep it warm.
Heat 1 cup of pure ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
When the ghee melts, add 1 cup of wheat flour.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir the flour constantly.
Fry the flour until it turns golden brown and emits a faint, earthy aroma. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
When the flour is thoroughly roasted, it will begin to look slightly coarse and release ghee.
Slowly add the hot water with sugar to the roasted flour.

The mixture will begin to boil as soon as the water is added, so stir quickly to avoid lumps.
Continue stirring over high heat until the halwa absorbs all the water and thickens.
When the halwa begins to leave the sides of the pan and the ghee begins to appear again, your kada prasad is ready.
Then turn off the gas. It's worth noting that no dry fruits or cardamom are used in making this prasad; its pure flavor is what makes it special.
