Hartalika Teej: festival is coming in the month of Bhadrapada for happiness and prosperity in married life, along with the long life of the husband. This fast will be observed on the full moon date of Shukla Paksha with the worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

This year, the date of Hartalika Teej will start from 12:34 pm on August 25 and will remain till 1:54 pm on August 26. In this way, according to the Udaya date, the fast of Hartalika Teej will be observed on August 26.

On this day, married women will observe this fast for the long life of their husbands, and unmarried girls will observe this fast with the wish of a desired groom. The fast of Hartalika Teej is observed without water. Because of this, it is also considered a very difficult fast.

Know the meaning of Hartalika.
The word Hartalika is made up of Harat and Aalika. In this, Harat means kidnapping, and Aalika means friend. According to the story of Hartalika Teej, Parvatraj Himalaya wanted to marry his daughter Parvati to Lord Vishnu.

But, Mother Parvati was against this marriage because she had accepted Lord Bholenath as her husband. In such a situation, Mother Parvati's friends kidnapped her and hid her in the forest, where she made a Shivling and did hard penance to get Shiva as her husband.

Prepare for worship like this.

In this fast, a clay idol of Gauri Shankar is made. On the day of the fast, wake up in Brahma Muhurta, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. After this, chant the mantra "Umamaheshwarasaayujya Siddhaye Haritalika Vratamham Karishye" to take a vow of fasting.

After cleaning the place of worship in the house, spread a red or yellow cloth on the chowki. Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati, and Ganesh ji on the chowki.

Women should get ready after applying 16 makeup. After this, offer incense, lamp, sandalwood, akshat, flowers, fruits, betel leaf, betel nut, camphor, coconut, belpatra, shami patra, etc. to God for worship.

After this, install the Kalash and place water, mango leaves, and coconut on it. Bathe the Shiv family with Gangajal. Light incense, lamps, and perform aarti. Listen to the story of Hartalika Teej.

Sing bhajans and kirtans at night and do jagran. The next day morning, break the fast after offering vermilion to Mother Parvati.
