According to the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) of the Government of India, ghee not only enhances the flavor of any food but also offers numerous health benefits. Ghee has a warming effect, making it particularly beneficial to consume during the winter months. It keeps the body warm and provides ample energy. Desi ghee, which has been used in Indian households for generations, remains just as special today. It is packed with natural properties that address many problems of modern life.

In terms of nutrients, ghee contains various vitamins such as A, E, D, and K, healthy fatty acids like omega-3, omega-6, linoleic acid, and butyric acid (which keeps the intestines healthy), as well as antioxidants. Omega-3 and omega-9 fatty acids are essential for a healthy heart.
According to Ayurveda, consuming ghee in the right quantity can be like nectar for your health. By including it in your diet in moderation, you can naturally strengthen your bones, boost your immunity, and reduce stress. Ghee also makes the skin radiant.
Ghee stimulates the digestive fire, lubricates the intestines, and aids in the absorption of nutrients. It strengthens immunity, thereby increasing the body's resistance to disease and protecting against infections. The vitamin D present in ghee strengthens bones and can be beneficial in relieving inflammation and pain in the joints. Regular consumption can also help prevent problems like osteoporosis.
Many people today suffer from stress and anxiety. Ghee calms the mind, improves sleep, and enhances mental well-being. Some people also apply ghee to their skin and lips. Applying ghee to the skin provides deep nourishment, preventing dryness and chapping during the winter months. It is also extremely beneficial for hair. Ayurvedic practitioners suggest drinking a spoonful of ghee mixed with lukewarm water or milk every morning on an empty stomach. The right way to consume ghee: According to health experts, maintain a balanced intake of ghee. For a normal person, 1 to 2 teaspoons of ghee per day is sufficient. Consuming more than this can increase Kapha (one of the three doshas in Ayurveda). Ghee made from the milk of indigenous cows is considered the healthiest and most nutritious. However, consume what suits you best.
