This allows them to adjust medications and recommend dietary and lifestyle modifications. This test also helps prevent diabetes-related damage to the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.

Health experts stated that diabetic patients should have their HbA1c test every 3 to 6 months to monitor their condition. If blood sugar control is good, this interval can be increased.
