Holi Ki Badkulle Puja: Holi, the festival of colors, is special for everyone. In Amethi, women of the Marwari community follow a special tradition on the occasion of the Holi festival perform Puja rituals, and pray for the happiness and prosperity of the society. Marwari women have also been following a special tradition for centuries. Women have named this tradition and ritualistic Puja as Badkulla. Holi is worshipped on the festival of Holi by installing a shield along with Holika Puja at the Holika Dahan site and circumambulating it 51 times. After fasting the whole day, the fast is broken by women by worshipping it again in the evening.

Significance of Badkulla Puja
The significance of this Puja is the victory of good over evil. 15 days before Holi, we all make bats, which are made from cow dung. On Ekadashi, we make toys. We make an idol of Holi Mata. On the day of Holi, we all make garlands and then circumambulate. We prepare new dishes. After fasting the whole day, we end this fast in the evening after performing Puja. We all have named it Badkulla. He also said that the evils that are inside us can be eradicated. For this, the people of Marwari society have been following this tradition for years.

Local woman Deepti Agarwal said that we do this puja for 15 days from Amavasya and follow the tradition of fasting for the long life of the son. According to mythological belief, Holika Maa had protected Prahlad. We also do this puja to pray to the mother for the protection and long life of our son. Another woman said that we all keep fast and this puja continues for 15 days.
